Even bigger nuisance
by Administrator on Oct.23, 2009, under Editorial
This blog… is really about passing on info about Anartik.com or info I want to share. I am about at the point of disabling comments altogether because of the scum sucking spammers that flood this blog. There are few if any legitimate comments and most are crap coming from India, China and Russia related to peddling counterfeit pharmaceuticals. What few legit comments that come in usually get buried under the 100’s or 1000’s of spam posts corralled by Askimet anti-spam.
Nuisance
by Administrator on Oct.23, 2009, under Anartik.com news
It just came to my attention that something has changed on Yahoo store or perhaps I was fooled because of the existence of a cookie. When you go to checkout you must fill out all the required fields in order to get a shipping quote. This means name, address, phone and email. Then you can select a method and hit apply to get shipping rates. I’ll be the first to say it sucks and I spent some time on the phone with Yahoo support tonight and that’s just the way it is. However as long as you don’t delete all your cookies your cart remains persistent (even empty) and you will be able to get shipping info without the extra hassle.
Back to writing shortly
by Administrator on Sep.22, 2009, under Anartik.com news
Sorry folks its been a while since I posted and I’ll be back to it shortly. Anartik keeps cruising along basically at the level of self sustaining and not much else with this economy. We’ll wait and see what the fall and winter bring. If things pickup I’ll go back into expansion mode. As for me… working too much at the day job (glad to have one), doing what I need to for anartik the wife didn’t already handle and not really playing or building much of anything game or computer related. Maybe if a decent game comes along I’ll get the bug again and finally build or at least renovate my current system.
Online Salesmen
by Administrator on Mar.06, 2009, under Editorial
I don’t know about you but when I walk into a store the quickest way to annoy me is to have salesmen swoop down like vultures. A quick can I help you from a passing sales associate is acceptable whom I usually give a no thanks. When I go into a store I either know exactly what I want or just want to browse and take in what’s available. If I need something I will ask. Follow me around and annoy me and I’m outta there. What’s really annoying is that a lot of websites have started employing this kind of crap. One of the great niceties of the web is the ability to leisurely shop anonymously without being harassed. A lot of sites now monitor activity and as quick as you land on a page a salesman is jumping you wanting to “assist”. To be blunt and to the point I despise the practice and my first action is to close the window and leave the site.
Fresh stock and expansion
by Administrator on Mar.04, 2009, under Anartik.com news
The black Scythe Kaze Master Ace fan controller is due back in stock next week. In the same shipment are a number of fans for stock replentishment and we are adding Scythe Thermal Elixir and the Scythe Bay Rafter to stock. Being I have gotten a new day job as a programmer(got laid off the end of November) I am continuing the expansion of anartik that has been somewhat downsized for the past couple months. Next week I will be adding 38 (not Scythe) new products and the expansion will roll from there. I want to thank all our great customers that have helped more than double our monthly sales over the past 3 months.
Nothing terribly spectacular yet but next week brings a line of black sleeved wiring adapters including some very long ones with switches, 80/120/140mm black wire fanguards, 140/90/40mm chrome fan guards, AC adapters for powering external 12V fans/devices, a couple colors of EL lighting, a slew of regular and UV connector hoods to complete our offering, more wiring tools, 8″ UV tie wraps, affordable gold plated 1.3 compliant HDMI cables, Sata & power PCI brackets and more. I attempted to get more dual tube CCFL UV lights but yet another supplier is out of stock. Stay tuned for more updates on our expansion.

Scythe Announcement
by Administrator on Feb.28, 2009, under Anartik.com news
According to an announcement today, from Scythe, they will continue the Shuriken as an LGA1366 cooler. They will also be re-releasing the Zipang and Katana 2 as LGA1366. As of now there is no availability date or any indication of what other adapters they will include with these coolers. We do currently stock LGA1366 adapters for Reeven and Scythe coolers (excluding Orochi).
Generally when Scythe removes an item from their price list they have discontinued it. As such I had previously announced the Shuriken was discontinued. It will be back sometime soon…
Scythe Shipment
by Administrator on Feb.23, 2009, under Anartik.com news
A Scythe shipment is in today. Scythe LGA775 & AM2 stabilizer kits, Kama Flex 120mm and Kaze Jyu Slim 92/100mm are online and available for order. Hopefully we got enough stabilizer kits this time to keep them in stock for more than a few days. I almost didn’t stock the kits and they turned out to be much more popular than expected and Scythe has had a hard time keeping up with demand. The fans are all new stock additions with 5 new models and we got additional stock of type A fan clips and 40mm fans.
